37th year running: Kuwait distributes ‘Iftar Banquets’ in Egyptian governorates

The convoys, transporting the first batch of Ramadan food baskets to 11 governorates of Upper and Lower Egypt, were prepared and managed with funding from the Kuwaiti Zakat House.

For the 37th consecutive year, the Kuwaiti Office for Charitable Projects in Cairo has continued its tradition of organizing “Iftar Banquets” during the holy month of Ramadan, delivering them via “charity convoys.”

Salwa Al-Anazi, the director of the office, stated in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that the convoys, transporting the first batch of Ramadan food baskets to 11 governorates of Upper and Lower Egypt, were prepared and managed with funding from the Kuwaiti Zakat House.

Al-Anazi added that this “kind gesture” is part of the periodic activities that the Kuwait Office for Charitable Projects in Cairo is keen on implementing during the month of Ramadan every year. The aim is to foster compassion and social solidarity among members of society and to alleviate the burdens of the most needy people in Egypt.

She explained that each Ramadan basket contains 12 kilograms of essential dry goods for families, including rice, pasta, kidney beans, lentils, beans, sauce, and oil.

She stressed that the continuation of such charitable activities contributes to strengthening the good relations between the brotherly Kuwaiti and Egyptian peoples.
