2,756 citations issued, 232 vehicles impounded during traffic campaign
The General Traffic Department recorded 2,756 traffic violations and impounded 232 vehicles during a recent traffic enforcement campaign aimed at improving road safety and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
The campaign also resulted in the arrest of 14 wanted persons, while three wanted vehicles were seized and referred to the relevant authorities. In addition, five violators were detained, and two juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution for further legal action. Among the violations recorded during the campaign were 35 for speeding, 243 overtaking and lane-related violations, and 940 cases of obstructing traffic.
Authorities also recorded 1,508 violations involving failure to use turn signals, along with 30 violations related to improper parking or blocking roads and access points. The General Traffic Department said such enforcement campaigns are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen traffic discipline, reduce violations and improve safety for motorists and other road users across Kuwait.
Authorities have urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and exercise caution while driving to help prevent accidents and maintain road safety.
