262,731 passengers set to fly during Kuwait’s National Day holidays

During the holiday period, travelers are heading to destinations like Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Istanbul, and Doha, with a total of 1,845 flights expected.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) anticipates a total of 262,731 passengers to traverse Kuwait International Airport during the upcoming National Day holidays, spanning from February 22 to 26. This marks a notable surge from the 187,152 passengers recorded during the corresponding period last year, underscoring heightened travel activity and holiday fervor.

Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the official spokesperson for the DGCA, informed KUNA that the projected number of departing passengers during the holiday period is 113,337, compared to 102,010 last year. The anticipated number of arriving passengers is 149,394, in contrast to 85,142 last year.

Al-Rajhi further stated that the total number of flights expected to operate during the holiday period is 1,845, compared to 1,367 in 2023. The anticipated number of arriving flights is 924, compared to 685 last year, while the expected number of departing flights is 921, compared to 682 in 2023.

During the holiday period, the most sought-after travel destinations include Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Istanbul, and Doha.

Al-Rajhi confirmed that the DGCA, in collaboration with all government and non-government entities operating at Kuwait International Airport, is fully prepared for the National Day holidays.
