Anti-doping agency seeks qualified MoE official with expertise in sports doping

Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi has formally requested Minister of Education Dr. Jalal Al-Tabtabaei to nominate a qualified representative to join the board of directors of the Kuwait Anti-Doping Agency.
The nominee must hold a position no lower than department director or its equivalent and possess experience or knowledge related to doping issues in sports.
In his letter, Al-Mutairi explained that the request is in accordance with Article 4 of the law establishing the Kuwait Anti-Doping Agency, reports Al-Rai daily.
This provision mandates that the Ministry of Education be represented on the board by a suitably ranked and knowledgeable official.
The Kuwait Anti-Doping Agency’s board is composed of representatives from 12 key government bodies, reflecting its wide jurisdiction and cross-sector coordination.
These entities include the ministries of Commerce and Industry, Justice, Information, Education, Health, Interior, Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters; Kuwait Olympic Committee, Public Authority for Sports, Public Authority for Youth and General Administration of Customs.
The board’s diverse composition underscores the national commitment to combating doping in sports and ensuring the integrity of athletic competition across Kuwait.
