
The ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel has been widely welcomed internationally. Leaders from a number of European countries, Canada, China, India, the United Nations, and international organizations have all expressed their support for the “historic agreement” and called for full and immediate compliance with its provisions.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged all parties concerned to fully adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, stressing the importance of ensuring a permanent ceasefire and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
European Commission
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the agreement, praising the diplomatic efforts of the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.
In a post on the X platform, von der Leyen urged all parties to fully adhere to the terms of the agreement, stressing that the European Union will continue to support the delivery of aid to Gaza and stands ready to assist in reconstruction.

For her part, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas described the agreement as a “major diplomatic achievement,” noting that the EU would do its utmost to support its implementation.
Britain
In Britain, Prime Minister Keir Starmer praised Hamas and Israel’s agreement to the first phase of the agreement, stating that it must be fully implemented without delay. He also called for the immediate lifting of all restrictions on aid to the Gaza Strip in conjunction with the agreement’s implementation.
France
For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the agreement and the efforts of US President Donald Trump, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey to achieve it, stressing the need for it to mark the end of the war and the beginning of a political solution based on the two-state solution.
