White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has characterized the two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran as a victory for the United States under the administration of President Donald Trump.
In a statement released via her official X account on Wednesday, Leavitt underscored that the “success of US military operations” generated “maximum leverage,” enabling President Trump and his national security team to conduct rigorous negotiations. These efforts, she noted, have facilitated a diplomatic opening aimed at securing long-term regional peace.
“Thanks to the unbelievable capabilities of our warriors, we have achieved and exceeded our core military objectives in 38 days,” Leavitt stated, further confirming that President Trump successfully secured the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.
The Press Secretary highlighted that the timeline aligned with the President’s initial strategic projections for “Operation Epic Fury,” which he estimated would conclude within a four-to-six-week window.
The breakthrough was announced approximately 90 minutes prior to the expiration of a presidential ultimatum. President Trump confirmed the 14-day cessation of hostilities remained strictly contingent upon the “immediate and safe” restoration of global maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz. – Kuna
