Weather alert: Dust storms and high humidity to persist

Officials urge public to follow weather updates as strong winds reduced visibility, high sea waves to persist through Friday

Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, announced that Kuwait will continue to experience strong dust-raising winds until midnight, with high humidity levels expected to persist through Friday.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali explained that the country is currently under the influence of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a hot and humid air mass.

This weather pattern is driving active southeasterly winds exceeding 50 kilometers per hour, which are causing widespread dust and reducing visibility, particularly in exposed areas.

He added that the strong winds are also causing sea waves to rise above six feet, especially affecting coastal and marine areas. Daytime weather is forecast to remain hot and relatively humid, while nighttime will be hot and more humid along the coast.

The expected high temperatures range between 39°C and 43°C, while lows will fall between 28°C and 30°C.

Al-Ali urged the public to stay informed by following the Meteorology Department’s official channels, including its website, mobile app, and social media platforms. He also recommended monitoring alerts via the government’s “Sahel” app for the latest weather warnings and updates.
