Watchful eyes, security checks deter forgers from entering Kuwait using fake documents

The Ministry of Interior has thwarted attempts by unidentified individuals to enter Kuwait using forged residency documents of GCC states.

Security sources said these attempts came on the heels of Kuwait facilitating entry procedures and issuing visas on arrival at the Kuwait ports of entry, but the watchful eyes of the security personnel have managed to identify and arrest the suspects through rigorous checks at border crossings and airports.

Informed sources revealed that border officials at the Abdali crossing recently uncovered several cases of travelers attempting to enter Kuwait on electronic tourist visas obtained through fraudulent means. The individuals presented forged Gulf residency permits to secure Kuwaiti visas electronically.

Upon investigation, those arrested admitted that they had paid money to middlemen and offices in a neighboring country to get the forged documents. Security authorities confirmed that active networks and offices are issuing fake Gulf residency permits to unsuspecting applicants, submitting them as genuine documents to obtain Kuwaiti visas.

The authorities stressed that obtaining an electronic visa does not grant automatic entry into Kuwait. Every traveler is subject to strict screening upon arrival, with documents thoroughly examined to confirm the validity of their Gulf residency permits. High-level biometric fingerprinting has also helped detect deportees attempting to re-enter under different passports or visas.

Legal measures have been taken against those arrested, while the relevant authorities have been informed of the growing threat posed by forged Gulf residency permits. Officials noted that attempts to forge such documents are often linked to wider international networks, but emphasized that Kuwaiti security personnel remain vigilant and uncompromising in protecting the country’s stability and security.
