. . . ‘Apni Dhun Mein Rahta Hoon’

Kuwait witnessed a night of timeless music and poetry as Indian Cultural Society presented the unforgettable Ghazal evening, “Apni Dhun Mein Rahta Hoon,” before music enthusiasts.
The event paid tribute to the legendary Jagjit Singh and was brought to life by the living maestro himself, Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan, whose presence elevated the occasion into a celebration of melody and lyrical expression.

The iconic Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan was accompanied on stage by his son Aamir Ali Khan, the young Ghazal virtuoso Ranjeet Rajwada, and Nazeer Ali Khan, delivering powerful performances.
The evening opened with a prayer song, followed by expressions of gratitude to Kuwait’s Ruling Family and authorities for supporting the cultural initiative.

Local talents, including Nand Kumar and Kaisar Ali Khan, impressed with their solo performances, while the “Dancing Divas” and energetic routines by young students added vibrancy and flair to the night.
A highlight of the evening was the release of a commemorative souvenir, unveiled in the presence of distinguished guests, sponsors, and dignitaries.

Among those attending were renowned artistes and prominent figures from Kuwait and abroad, including Shahbaaz Alam, Javed Aslam, Irfan Erooth, S. Bukhari, Govind Rasam, Mohamed Ali, and many others, along with representatives from leading organizations and community groups.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and lauded ICS for its commitment to art, literature, and social welfare. All performers were honored with mementos in recognition of their contributions.

The iconic compositions of Ustad Ghulam Ali, including “Chupke Chupke Raat Din,” “Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa,” “Apni Dhun Mein Rehta Hoon,” and others, left the audience spellbound.
Sharing the stage with his son and grandson added layers of warmth and legacy to the performances, culminating in a standing ovation from an enthralled audience.
The evening concluded with a vote of thanks from the ICS President, who expressed gratitude to the executives, volunteers, technical staff, and media partners whose dedication ensured the night’s flawless execution.
The grand finale featured all performers joining Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan in a soulful rendition of “Hum Tere Shahar Mein Aaye Hain, Musafir Ki Tarah,” leaving an indelible mark on Kuwait’s cultural landscape.
