Match No 4- Failaika Guardians vs Boubyan Warriors
Failaika Guardians 197/5 (20)
Boubyan Warriors 132/8 (20)
Failaika Guardians Won By 65 Runs.
In a thrilling encounter, Usman Gani and Meet Bhavsar unleashed absolute carnage with the bat to power Failaika Guardians to a commanding 65-run victory over Boubyan Warriors. Their explosive batting laid the foundation for a dominant all-round performance that left the Warriors chasing shadows throughout the match.
Batting first, Failaika Guardians posted a formidable total of 197 for 5 in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Meet Bhavsar, who remained unbeaten on 83 off 60 balls, smashing 4 boundaries and 5 towering sixes in a composed yet destructive knock. But it was Usman Gani who lit up the field with his explosive batting, hammering 73 runs off just 35 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes, scoring at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 208.57. The pair stitched together a blistering partnership that left Boubyan Warriors’ bowlers struggling for answers. Despite a few quick wickets in the middle, the momentum never shifted, thanks to the solid platform built by the top order.
In response, Boubyan Warriors never really got going in the chase. Early breakthroughs by Khaliq Anwar, who returned brilliant figures of 3 for 14 in his 3 overs, put them on the back foot. He was well supported by Sandaruwan Chinthaka, who also chipped in with 2 wickets for just 6 runs in his 2-over spell, completely stifling the middle order. The Warriors’ only resistance came from Mohamed Aslam (33 off 23) and Nimish Latheif (34 off 26), but their efforts weren’t enough to change the outcome as they limped to 132 for 8 in their 20 overs.
With the ball, Failaika’s bowling unit showed great discipline and variation. Apart from Khaliq and Sandaruwan’s heroics, Shahid Shameem and Shiraz Khan also picked up a wicket each, ensuring there were no loose ends. Their consistent pressure ensured that none of the Warriors’ batters could settle in for long.
In the end, it was a comprehensive performance by Failaika Guardians — one built on the brutal hitting of Usman and Meet, and finished with clinical precision by their bowlers. This win will certainly boost their confidence going forward, while the Boubyan Warriors will need to regroup and rethink their strategies after being completely outplayed.
