US President Donald Trump affirmed on Friday that the United States is working to repatriate thousands of its citizens from Middle Eastern countries “quietly and smoothly.”
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that his country is repatriating “thousands of people from various countries throughout the Middle East.”
He praised the performance of the US State Department in this regard, emphasizing that it is “doing a fantastic job” in managing the evacuation of American citizens from the region.
In the same context, Assistant Secretary of State Dylan Johnson said in a statement that approximately 24,000 American citizens have returned safely to the United States from the Middle East since February 28.
He added that these figures do not include the many Americans who have safely relocated to other countries or those who have left the Middle East and are still en route back to the United States.
He noted that the State Department has provided direct assistance to nearly 13,000 Americans abroad through security guidance and assistance with travel arrangements.
