United Kingdom congratulates Kuwait on the occasion of National & Liberation days

On behalf of the Government of the United Kingdom, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to His Highness the Amir; His Highness the Crown Prince; His Highness the Prime Minister; and the Kuwaiti Government and people, as we celebrate the State of Kuwait’s 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day.
These two days mark the establishment and defence of Kuwait’s full independence while symbolising the enduring resilience and spirit of its people.
From a UK-Kuwait perspective, National and Liberation Day are also key milestones in our shared history, with the British Government’s 53,462-troop contribution to the Allied Operations of 1991, which remains our largest single military deployment since World War 2.
Congratulations again to the leadership and people of Kuwait. May your future shine as brightly as your proud history and may our partnership continue to go from strength to strength.
H.E. Belinda Lewis
British Ambassador to Kuwait
