“United Indian School” equip teachers with AI skills for future-ready education

The United Indian School (UIS) recently conducted AI training sessions for teachers, led by Senior Principal Mr. C. Radhakrishnan. Designed for educators of Grades IX to XII, the sessions aimed to enhance their understanding of AI concepts and equip them with the skills to seamlessly incorporate AI-driven tools into the teaching-learning process.

Objective of the Training

The training aimed to equip teachers with AI knowledge and practical applications to enhance classroom engagement, simplify administrative tasks, and enrich student learning. The sessions covered AI fundamentals, its role in education, and hands-on experience with tools like ChatGPT and Napkin, providing educators with a well-rounded understanding of AI-driven solutions.

Key Highlights of the Training

  • Introduction to AI: Educators explored the fundamentals of AI, including machine learning and deep learning, while understanding their significance and potential impact in the field of education.
  • AI in Education: The session highlighted how AI enhances personalized learning, student assessment, classroom management, and lesson planning, transforming the teaching-learning experience.
  • Hands-on Experience: Teachers engaged with AI-powered educational tools and software, gaining practical insights into their applications for effective teaching and learning.
  • Project-Based Learning: Teachers selected subject-specific topics and received structured guidance from the Principal on creating comprehensive lesson plans integrated with AI tools.

The training covered using AI to develop:

  1. Engaging activities, instructional notes, and AI-generated assessment materials.
  2. Art-integrated projects, group discussions, and home reinforcement materials.
  3. AI-assisted design of illustrations, mind maps, flowcharts, pictures, infographics, and PowerPoint presentations.
  4. Development of descriptive and MCQ-based assessments aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  5. Teachers successfully created complete lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and reinforcement activities with the assistance of ChatGPT and Napkin.
  • Ethical Considerations: Teachers engaged in discussions on responsible AI usage, data privacy, and the ethical implications of integrating AI into education.
  • AI and Social Media: Educators learned how to leverage AI tools for social media management and online profile building, fostering a positive connection with parents and the school community.
  • Interactive Q&A Session: Teachers engaged in an open discussion, seeking clarifications and sharing insights, which boosted their confidence in applying AI-driven teaching methodologies effectively.

Participation & Impact

More than 70 teachers participated in the training, divided into two batches on January 25, 2025, and February 8, 2025. This approach ensured personalized attention and fostered an interactive learning environment.

The training was highly valued by the faculty, offering valuable insights into AI’s impact on modern education. Mr. Radhakrishnan’s expertise, engaging teaching style, and ability to simplify complex AI concepts made the sessions both insightful and practical.

Teachers enthusiastically embraced the potential of AI-driven strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. The session motivated educators to adopt technological advancements and refine their teaching methodologies for a more dynamic and effective learning experience.
