Unified and consistent nutritional care in all hospitals across Kuwait

H E Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, Minister of Health, issued a ministerial decision to transfer the technical affiliation of all therapeutic nutrition departments and catering services in hospitals and health centers, to the Nutrition and Catering Department.

This is being done as a mission to improve the level of health services and enhance the care provided to patients across all the hospitals in Kuwait.

Further to this, The Ministry of Health said that this decision aims to achieve a unified and consistent level of nutritional care in all hospitals and health centers that are affiliated with the Ministry.
Moreover, it was also emphasized that this was done as a unifying technical affiliation that contributes toward enhancing commitment to the technical procedures and standards followed, and to ensure in achieving the highest standards of quality and safety in the feeding services that are provided to patients and health sector workers.

The Minister further explained that this decision will also contribute in improving the level of control and supervision of the therapeutic nutrition departments and catering services. This will enhance the operational efficiency of these departments, and provide continuous technical support to specialized cadres that will ensure high-quality nutritional services. All these efforts are in line with modern health requirements, and medical developments in this field, it was stated further.

It is noteworthy to mention that this decision comes within a series of administrative and technical development measures that are adopted by the Ministry of Health, which aim to improve the quality of health services provided and simultaneously ensure effective response to citizens’ health requirements.
