Unidentified man in abnormal state armed with iron bar, carrying lion cub, goes on rampage

. . . damages parked cars; victims are asked to file complaints at police station

The Ministry of Interior announced today the arrest of a man who went on a vandalism spree in Salmiya, damaging seven parked vehicles in a disturbing incident captured on social media.

According to the ministry, the Hawalli Governorate Security Directorate – Operations and Patrols Department – acted immediately after the operations room received a report and after viewing a circulating video showing the suspect smashing car windows in a residential area.

A support force was dispatched to the scene, where officers found the man in an abnormal state, armed with an iron bar and carrying a lion cub as he continued damaging vehicles.

Due to his aggressive behavior, security personnel subdued him by force and took him to the Salmiya Police Station for legal action.

The owners of the damaged vehicles have been instructed to file their complaints and complete the necessary procedures at the police station.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to taking swift and decisive action against anyone who threatens public or private property, stressing that maintaining community security and protecting residents remains a top priority.
