UNHCR Kuwait empowers humanitarian causes with digital marketing workshop

The aim of the workshop was to foster the exchange of skills and experiences among parties and partners involved in humanitarian work and support for forcibly displaced people.

  • The workshop titled, “Digital Marketing in Service of Humanitarian Causes: Strategies for Successful Campaigns,” not only provided a platform for exchanging experiences but also strengthened the spirit of cooperation between UNHCR and its partners in Kuwait.

  • Participants at the workshop engaged in rich discussions and interactive sessions focused on enhancing digital marketing strategies to support humanitarian causes more effectively.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, hosted a technical workshop titled “Digital Marketing in Service of Humanitarian Causes: Strategies for Successful Campaigns.” The workshop took place on May 21 at the UN House in the State of Kuwait.

The workshop brought together experts from UNHCR and various Kuwaiti partners, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, charity organizations, and leaders from the private sector. Participants engaged in rich discussions and interactive sessions focused on enhancing digital marketing strategies to support humanitarian causes more effectively. The aim was to foster the exchange of skills and experiences among parties and partners involved in humanitarian work and support for forcibly displaced people.

The workshop began with an opening speech by Ms. Amal Al-Beedh, acting UNHCR Representative in Kuwait, who reflected on the event’s success, stating, “Through our activities in the State of Kuwait, we aim to engage all segments of society to advance humanitarian work. Today’s workshop not only provided a platform for exchanging experiences but also strengthened the spirit of cooperation between UNHCR and its partners in Kuwait. Given the continuing and unprecedented rise in the number of forcibly displaced people and the increasing number of emergencies worldwide, it is essential for us to collaborate and enhance the impact of our humanitarian efforts through various means, including innovative digital strategies.”

In his statement, Mr. Nader ElNakib, Chief of Partnerships at UNHCR, emphasized the transformative potential of digital tools in humanitarian outreach.

“Digital fundraising utilizes technology to address the humanitarian needs of refugees, proving to be an essential tool in our collective effort to support the most vulnerable,” he stated.

“This workshop has been crucial in bringing together leading foundations from Kuwait, fostering an environment of skill sharing and collaboration. Through this collaboration, we are enhancing our capabilities to serve humanity more effectively, ensuring that every contribution makes a profound impact where it is most needed,” added ElNakib.

The workshop concluded with a session on future strategies and a commitment to strengthening collaborations among the participants, aiming to leverage digital marketing tools for advancing humanitarian and refugee assistance projects.
