UNHCR Congratulates Kuwait on National and Liberation Days

I am honored to extend my congratulations and sincere best wishes to His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and to the Government and people of Kuwait on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Independence and the 35th anniversary of Liberation.

UNHCR takes great pride in its longstanding and strategic partnership with the State of Kuwait, built over more than three decades of close cooperation. Kuwait has consistently demonstrated distinguished humanitarian leadership and active diplomacy at both regional and international levels.

The generous support provided by the State of Kuwait through UNHCR has had a profound impact on tens of millions of refugees and forcibly displaced people worldwide, particularly in crises such as Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Somalia, Ukraine and Afghanistan. On this cherished national occasion, we look forward to continuing this constructive humanitarian partnership and wish the State of Kuwait continued security, stability and prosperity.
