UK ambassador hails ICE Student Chapter’s new branch at Kuwait University

H.E. Belinda Lewis, the UK ambassador to the State of Kuwait, expressed hope that this initiative would enhance knowledge exchange and strengthen the connections between the two friendly countries.

H.E. Belinda Lewis, the UK Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, expressed delight in the opening of the ICE Student Chapter at Kuwait University and the collaboration with local entities, stating it will enhance cooperation in engineering, science, and environmental fields.

Professor Anusha Shah, president of the ICE, thanked all involved in opening the new Student Chapter and expressed hope it would aid local engineers and students in achieving their academic and research goals.

Belinda Lewis, the UK Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, welcomed the launch of the British Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Student Chapter’s new branch atKuwait University’s College of Petroleum and Engineering. She expressed hope that this initiative would enhance knowledge exchange and strengthen the connections between the two friendly nations.

The ambassador hosted a delegation of visiting ICE officials, including Professor Anusha Shah, ICE President, at her residence following a roundtable discussion organized by the Kuwait Society of Engineers that introduced ICE’s Enabling Better Infrastructureprogram, which focuses on overcoming challenges in civil engineering to promote sustainable infrastructure development.

Ambassador Lewis stated, “I am delighted by both the opening of the ICE Student Chapter’s new branch and the broader cooperation between ICE and Kuwaiti entities, including the Kuwait Society of Engineers and Kuwait University. I am confident this will unlock further collaboration between our two countries in the engineering, scientific, and environmental fields.”

Eng. Faisal Duweeh Al-Attal, the President of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, thanked the British ambassador for supporting cooperation between the society and ICE, stressing that he would spare no effort in further strengthening this partnership moving forward.

Al-Attal also expressed his eagerness to benefit from the experiences of friendly partners in the field of sustainable infrastructure development, which was the core focus of the earlier roundtable discussion.

Professor Anusha Shah, the ICE president, expressed her gratitude to all parties involved in opening the new Student Chapter and her hope that this would support local engineers and students in realizing their academic and research ambitions.
