UIS honors the spirit of exploration and science with grand exhibition

The exhibition themed “Navigating the World - Where, When, and How” highlighted the hard work and creativity of students from Grades VI to X at United Indian School.

Students and teachers were captivated by the beautiful display at the exhibition, which set the tone for a day of learning and reflection on the need to preserve our planet for future generations.

The event featured projects and exhibits that took everyone on a journey through the history of human navigation, exploring how we have used different tools, technologies, and ideas to understand and travel the world over time.

 

Honouring the incredible spirit of exploration and global understanding, the Social Science Department of United Indian School (UIS), organized a grand exhibition themed Navigating the World – Where, When and How on October 14.

The exhibition was inaugurated by our Senior Principal, Mr. C. Radhakrishnan, in the presence of Vice Principals Mrs. Mary Litty and Mrs. Reshmi Elizabeth Zachariah, as well as Social Science HOD Mrs. Beena Thomas.

Meticulously planned and presented under Mrs. BeenaThomas’s guidance, the exhibition was supported by the passionate teachers of the Social Science Department and featured the enthusiastic participation of students from Grades VI to X, highlighting their hard work and creativity.

The stage decorations centered around the theme “Save the Earth,” conveying a powerful message about environmental protection and sustainability. Students and teachers were captivated by the beautiful display, which set the tone for a day of learning and reflection on the need to preserve our planet for future generations.

The event featured a series of projects and exhibits that took everyone on a journey through the history of human navigation, exploring how we have used different tools, technologies, and ideas to understand and travel the world over time.

From ancient maps and early explorers to a working model of India’s pride, Chandrayaan 3, the exhibition included an electronic voting machine (EVM), various landforms, oil rigs, natural disasters, wastewater treatment, drip irrigation, and rainwater harvesting.

The event also showcased a fascinating evolution of Indian history through significant events of the Indian National Movement, drawing insights from world history. These presentations offered a deep reflection on the global struggle for freedom, justice, and peace.

The students’ presentations also highlighted various cultures and civilizations, focusing on how each contributed to the world’s understanding of exploration and navigation. Interactive models, detailed charts, and engaging presentations kept the audience intrigued, creating a learning experience that was both enjoyable and thought-provoking.

In addition to exploring the world, the exhibition served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of environmental responsibility. The theme “Save the Earth” was woven into each presentation, urging everyone to consider their role in protecting the environment.

“Navigating the World – Where, When, and How” was a triumph, offering students a unique opportunity to showcase their knowledge while inspiring all attendees to think deeply about our shared history and the future of our planet. It was truly an event that celebrated the joy of learning, exploration, and the importance of protecting the Earth.
