The UAE has unveiled a cutting-edge Arabic-language artificial intelligence model, Falcon Arabi, developed by the Abu Dhabi Advanced Technology Research Council, as part of the intensifying global AI race.
According to an official statement, Falcon Arabi was trained on high-quality native Arabic data, including Modern Standard Arabic and various regional dialects, enabling it to accurately comprehend the linguistic diversity of the Arab world, according to Al-Rai daily.
The statement emphasized that Falcon Arabi outperforms all other Arabic-language AI models currently available in the region, proving that intelligent model design is more critical than size, as it rivals models ten times larger in scale.
Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of the Council, stated, “Leadership in AI today is not about size, but about effectiveness, usability, and comprehensiveness of solutions.”
In addition, the Council launched the Falcon H-1 model, which it claims surpasses rivals such as Meta and Alibaba, thanks to its efficiency—requiring less computing power and minimal technical expertise for use.
These developments mark a major milestone in Arabic-language AI, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a regional leader in advanced technology.
