Major UAE carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways and Flydubai, have announced that the United Arab Emirates is barring Iranian nationals from entering or transiting through the country amid the ongoing conflict.
The restrictions were published on the airlines’ official websites on Wednesday, indicating a coordinated move affecting one of the region’s busiest global travel hubs, dw.com reports.
According to the notices, Iranian passport holders are currently not permitted to enter or transit via UAE airports. However, exemptions apply to individuals holding long-term residency, including the UAE’s 10-year Golden Visa.
Authorities in the UAE have not issued an official public statement regarding the decision, and entry regulations in the country can often be subject to rapid changes, particularly during periods of heightened geopolitical tension.
The move comes as regional instability continues to impact travel and aviation operations, with Gulf airports serving as critical transit points for international passengers.
