Two Syrians forge nationality files, 80 Kuwaiti citizenships to be revoked

Among the cases of forgery investigated by the Higher Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality, two real brothers were found to have been fraudulently added to the nationality file of a Kuwaiti citizen who was originally naturalized.
It was revealed that the two brothers, born in the 1950s, were originally Syrian nationals. Following the exposure of their forgery, they fled Kuwait.
Both brothers had worked in the oil sector, and their children are employed in the same field. Additionally, their wives, who are also Syrian nationals, had obtained Kuwaiti citizenship under Article (8).
According to investigations and inquiries, Kuwaiti citizenship will be withdrawn in a total of 80 cases linked to the two forger brothers. This includes 55 cases connected to the first brother and 25 cases to the second. These cases involve their sons and grandchildren, whose citizenships were obtained based on the fraudulent inclusion in the nationality file.
DNA tests conducted on the sons of the deceased original file owner confirmed that the two fugitive brothers were not related to them. The sons admitted that the two Syrians were not their brothers and had been falsely included in their father’s nationality file.
