Two Sudanese arrested for illegal fundraising and drug possession

Personnel from the Department for Combating Financial Crimes have arrested two Sudanese for illegally collecting donations under the name ‘Initiative,’ without obtaining a license from the competent authorities.

The Ministry said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off and the suspects have confessed to collecting funds without official authorization, reports Al-Rai daily.

Following the arrest, the CID men found drug paraphernalia, narcotic pills, hashish, and shabu in the possession of one of the men. The suspects and the confiscated items have been referred to the appropriate authorities for legal action.
