Two men arrested for driving under the influence of drugs
Two unidentified men have been referred to the General Department for Drug Control after their arrest, in two separate incidents at two different locations, for consuming drugs.
In the first incident, personnel from the Farwaniya Security Directorate took into custody, the expatriate suspect was arrested at a checkpoint near the entrance to the Ardhiya Industrial Area past midnight after he was visibly nervous and disoriented, reports Al-Rai daily.
During a precautionary search police found with him narcotic substances and a hashish-laced cigarette.
In the second incident, backup patrols from the Hawalli Security Directorate stopped a vehicle in the Salmiya area during a routine security patrol.
The driver, a Kuwaiti man in his thirties, was found to be under the influence of drugs. A subsequent search of his vehicle yielded narcotics and drug-related paraphernalia.
