Two illegal liquor factories raided in Abdali Farms; main suspect and workers arrested

The Criminal Security Sector and the Security Directorates Sector, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, have uncovered and shut down two illegal liquor factories operating inside rented farms in the Abdali area.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, an inspector from the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources discovered suspicious activity during a routine inspection of farms in Abdali. When he attempted to enter one of the farms, a worker tried to escape but was quickly apprehended and taken to Al-Qashaniyya Police Station.

Upon arrival, security forces found a room that had been converted into a fully equipped local liquor manufacturing site, containing plastic containers filled with alcohol, fermentation tools, and packaging materials. Investigations revealed that the farm had been rented by a resident without an official contract, who used part of it as a liquor factory, reports Al-Anba daily.

Further investigations by Al-Qashaniyya detectives led to the identification and arrest of the main suspect in the Al-Sabahiya area. The suspect confessed to renting the farm and using it for producing local liquor. He also directed authorities to another similar factory located in Abdali.

During the subsequent raid, officers discovered additional manufacturing tools, alcoholic substances, and several resident workers involved in the production process. All individuals, including the main tenant, were arrested and referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

It is noteworthy that Al-Anba had reported in its previous issue the seizure of another liquor factory and the arrest of six expatriates for manufacturing and promoting local alcohol.
