Two ‘drug addicts’ arrested in separate incidents
In two separate incidents last night, backup patrols from the Farwaniya and Hawalli Security Directorates referred persons to the General Department for Drug Control after they were caught driving under the influence of drugs and found in possession of narcotics.
In the first case, patrols stationed at a checkpoint in the Ardhiya Industrial Area stopped a vehicle driven by an expatriate who appeared visibly nervous, reports Al-Anba daily.
During routine questioning, it became evident he was under the influence of drugs. A precautionary search revealed narcotics and a hashish cigarette in his possession.
He was immediately referred, along with the seized substances, to the Drug Control authorities.
In the second incident, a security patrol in Salmiya stopped a suspicious vehicle during a routine tour.
The driver, a Kuwaiti man in his thirties, was found to be under the influence of drugs.
During a search police found in his possession narcotics and related paraphernalia. He too was handed over to the General Department for Drug Control for further legal action.
