Twitterer released on 300 dinars bail

The Criminal Court has ordered the release of Abdulkarim Ahmed, a twitterer, on 300 dinars bail and postponed his trial in the case in which he stands accused of spreading false news.

The decision followed a request from his lawyer, who argued that there were no grounds for continued detention, noting that Ahmed is a citizen with a registered address and poses no risk of evading the trial, reports Al-Anba daily.
