Türkiye Congratulates Kuwait on National and Liberation Days

On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the National Day and Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait. These significant days symbolize the unity, resilience, and the stability of the friendly and brotherly people of Kuwait.
I also recall and honor the memory of those who lost their lives during the occupation in 1990. Türkiye stood firmly by Kuwait from the very first moments of the crisis, swiftly implementing economic and diplomatic measures which demonstrated our concrete commitment to Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The deployment of a large military contingent to Türkiye’s southern border further underscored the seriousness of this stance. The fact that the Turkish Embassy was among the last to depart Kuwait during the occupation remains a lasting symbol of genuine solidarity between our two nations.
Türkiye and Kuwait enjoy a solid and long-standing relationship built on mutual respect and brotherhood. Viewing the ever-developing brotherly relations among the two countries, under the visionary leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal, our bilateral ties have advanced to the level of a strategic partnership, strengthened further by high-level visits, institutional cooperation mechanisms, and growing economic interaction.
On this meaningful occasion, I once again congratulate the State of Kuwait and convey my sincere wishes for peace, prosperity, and wellbeing to the brotherly Kuwaiti people. Türkiye will continue to stand by Kuwait today and in the years ahead, as it has always done.
H.E. Touba Sonmez
Ambassador of Türkiye
