Trump-Putin to meet at Air Force Base in Anchorage

US media reported today, citing White House officials, that the anticipated meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will take place on Friday at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.

According to CNN, the base, located in the northern suburbs of Anchorage, was the only location that met the requirements for the historic summit, although the White House had hoped to avoid hosting the Russian delegation on the grounds of a US military facility.

The report noted that options for locations in Alaska, formerly part of the Russian Empire, were limited due to the peak tourist season.
