US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that a second aircraft carrier will soon be deployed to the Middle East, signaling a further expansion of Washington’s military presence in the region amid rising security tensions.
The announcement comes as the United States has intensified its strategic positioning in recent weeks, reinforcing naval forces already operating in regional waters. A carrier strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln has previously been dispatched as part of the ongoing buildup, reports Al-Rai daily.
