Tragedy in India, two IAF pilots killed as fighter jet crashes in Rajasthan

A tragic incident today afternoon killed both pilots when an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jet crashed in Rajasthan’s Churu district. The aircraft went down near Bhavana Badavane village in Ratangarh Tehsil around 12:30 pm (India time), according to Churu Superintendent of Police Jai Yadav.

The Indian Air Force confirmed the fatalities in an official post on X, stating that both pilots suffered fatal injuries during the crash, according to Indian news agencies.

This latest crash adds to a concerning series of IAF accidents. Just a few months earlier, in April, a two-seater Jaguar fighter jet had crashed in Gujarat’s Jamnagar district, killing one pilot after it went down in an open field near Suvarda village.

The authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine the cause of today’s crash. Emergency teams reached the site promptly, and further updates are expected as the IAF continues to assess the situation.
The loss has cast a shadow just days before India’s 78th Independence Day, underlining the dangers routinely faced by the country’s armed forces in training and operational duties.
