Traffic discipline prevails as violations drop by more than half over five days

Traffic discipline has notably improved across Kuwait’s roads, driven by the strict enforcement of traffic laws, advanced monitoring systems, and growing public awareness.
According to security sources, traffic violations have declined by more than 55 percent between October 20 and 25, marking a significant achievement for road safety efforts.
This progress reflects the seriousness and professionalism of traffic officers in applying the law, particularly through the use of new-generation cameras to record violations, combined with the Ministry of Interior’s awareness campaigns and the positive response from citizens and residents who have increasingly complied with traffic regulations, reports Al-Rai daily.
A well-informed security said the new monitoring systems recorded 365 violations for overtaking and obstructing traffic on Saturday, October 25, compared to 823 violations recorded on Monday, October 20, underscoring the impact of strict law enforcement.
The source described this as “a genuine achievement credited to the dedication of security personnel who apply the law firmly and without leniency.”
As part of the intensified enforcement campaign, traffic police also targeted hospital sites across the governorates, issuing 222 violations in a single day for offenses ranging from illegal parking to obstructing traffic, and impounding two vehicles for serious violations at the Jaber Hospital.
The source explained that “vehicles with such violations will not be released until the impoundment period is completed and the fines are paid,” stressing that these measures aim to deter reckless behavior and ensure smooth traffic flow.
In terms of hospital-related violations, Al-Adan Hospital topped the list with 80 violations, followed by Al-Jahra Hospital (66), Al-Farwaniya Hospital (22), Al-Amiri Hospital and Al-Sabah Medical District (17 each), and Jaber Hospital (9), in addition to two vehicles prevented from entering for obstructing ambulance movement.
These results highlight the effectiveness of coordinated efforts between traffic authorities and the Ministry of Interior, reinforcing a culture of compliance and responsibility among road users throughout Kuwait.
