Traffic department orders vehicle impoundment for serious violations

The General Traffic Department announced today a new directive mandating the impoundment of vehicles found committing a series of serious traffic violations, in a move aimed at enhancing road safety and ensuring smoother traffic flow across the country.
According to the circular issued by the department, vehicles will be impounded immediately if found engaging in any of the following violations:
- Wrong overtaking,
- Parking in prohibited areas,
- Obstructing traffic movement, or
- Blocking roads.
The decision comes as part of the Ministry of Interior’s broader efforts to tighten traffic enforcement, preserve public safety, and reduce reckless driving behavior that contributes to congestion and accidents, reports Al-Anba daily.
Traffic authorities emphasized that the directive is in line with ongoing measures to promote respect for traffic laws, calling on motorists to adhere strictly to regulations to avoid penalties, including vehicle impoundment and possible fines.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to continuing inspection campaigns across various areas in Kuwait to ensure compliance and maintain public order on the roads.
