“Trade Inspectors” seize 9 commercial violators in date market ahead of Ramadan

The inspection teams from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued 9 seizure reports following an inspection tour of date markets, coffee, tea, and food mills in the Shuwaikh area. These violations will be referred to the Commercial Prosecution for further action.
The inspection tour was conducted by a team from the Commercial Control Departments, along with technical staff, to oversee the goods and assess their prices. The team was led by Faisal Al-Ansari, the Director of Supervision.
Furthermore, the inspection tour uncovered several violations, including discrepancies in product balances, such as a shortage of coffee package quantities. Additionally, some food products were found without price labels, and the country of origin was not indicated for certain items. The inspection also revealed that the expiration dates of some food products were not clearly stated, raising concerns about their safety.
This campaign is part of the Ministry of Commerce’s efforts to tighten regulations on the markets ahead of Ramadan. The Ministry’s Price Control Department has obtained pledges from stores not to raise prices before or during the holy month of Ramadan.
