TKS launches ‘Telugu Baala’ classes and celebrates Bathukamma in Kuwait

Telugu Kala Samithi (TKS) Kuwait launched “Telugu Baala” — a pioneering initiative introducing physical Telugu language classes in Kuwait on September 26, 2025, at International School, Mangaf. More than 100 students enrolled for the Telugu classes.
This historic step by the TKS Executive Committee (2025–2026) demonstrates their commitment to preserving and promoting the Telugu language and culture among the Telugu families residing in Kuwait.
Recognizing the importance of connecting children with their mother tongue, the committee took up the challenge of arranging physical classes across different areas of Kuwait, ensuring easy accessibility and convenience for all members without extensive travel.
To support this educational effort, special Telugu learning books were published by TKS and distributed to students following traditional Indian customs. The event carried a touch of nostalgia, as parents joyfully witnessed their children embarking on their journey to learn and speak Telugu, their mother tongue. The emotional moment of children taking their parents’ blessings before beginning their classes added cultural depth to the event.
Following the Telugu Baala inauguration, the celebrations continued with Bathukamma, the traditional floral festival of Telangana. For the first time in Kuwait, TKS organized this vibrant celebration, turning the venue into a colorful sight of joy and cultural pride. The women members enthusiastically prepared beautifully decorated Bathukammas and came together to sing and dance around them with immense energy and devotion. The rhythmic songs and graceful movements created an atmosphere that reflected the true spirit of Telugu culture.
The event was a perfect blend of education, tradition, and community spirit—on one hand, children began their journey towards embracing their language, and on the other, the community collectively celebrated a festival deeply rooted in Telugu heritage.
