Thousands of Palestinians began moving from the southern Gaza Strip to the north on Friday after the Israeli military announced a ceasefire had taken effect at noon local time (09:00 GMT), according to Agence France-Presse.
Video footage showed lines of men, women, and children walking along the coastal road, many carrying belongings, as residents sought safety and reunification with family in northern areas now accessible under the truce.
The movement marks one of the first large-scale relocations since the ceasefire, reflecting cautious optimism among Gaza’s population amid ongoing uncertainty.
