There will be peace in the Middle East one way or the other: Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark ultimatum to Hamas, warning that “all hell” will break loose if the group fails to accept his proposed Gaza peace plan by Sunday evening.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Friday, Trump set a deadline of 6 p.m. Washington time (11 p.m. BST) for Hamas to respond to the 20-point peace plan he unveiled earlier this week. He described it as the group’s “one last chance” to end the conflict, the Independent reports.

“If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas,”

Trump wrote. “There will be peace in the Middle East one way or the other.”

The BBC reported that Izz al-Din al-Haddad, head of Hamas’s military wing in Gaza, remains firmly opposed to any deal and is determined to continue the fight.

Trump’s warning adds fresh pressure to ongoing backchannel talks, with Washington insisting that its proposal offers the “fastest and only realistic path” toward ending months of bloodshed in Gaza.
