The Visit of the Secretary of Defense Industries of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye

“Today, the Secretary of Defense Industries of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, along with his accompanying delegation, visited Kuwait. He was welcomed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Mubarak Al Sabah and Acting Chief of General Staff, Major General Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah.

Turkish Ambassador, Her Excellency Tuba Nur Sönmez, accompanied the delegation throughout their meetings.

Upon the arrival of the delegation, a meeting was held at Amiri Airport with the Undersecretary of the Defense Ministry and the Kuwaiti Deputy Chief of Staff.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Turkish Embassy. Afterward, they proceeded to the Headquarters of the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) and met with KNG Undersecretary Lieutenant General Hashim Al-Rifai.

The Secretary of Defense Industries, H.E. Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, and his delegation were hosted for lunch at the General Staff Headquarters. Attending on behalf of Kuwait were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Mubarak Al Sabah; the Acting Chief of General Staff, Major General Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah; and the Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Procurement, Sheikha Dr. Eng. Shamayel Ahmad Khaled Al-Sabah.

Finally, the delegation was received by the Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, at Bayan Palace.

Throughout these productive meetings, cooperation in the field of defense industries between Türkiye and Kuwait was discussed, highlighting a shared commitment to strengthening ties. The positive atmosphere of the discussions underscored the promising outlook for enhanced collaboration in the defense industry sector in the years to come. The Turkish Defense Delegation departed for Ankara this evening.”
