The Embassy of Korea and KOC co-host tree planting event “Go Green Kuwait”
A tree planting event “Go Green Kuwait” was held at KOC’s Al-Abdaliya Nature Reserve on 25th January, 2025.
“Go Green Kuwait” is a tree-planting environmental drive aimed at supporting the Kuwaiti Government’s “vision 2035” focusing on expanding green areas through afforestation and developing natural reserves. In a significant gesture of collaboration, KOC designated an exclusive tree planting zone for the Korean community within its natural reserve.
The 3rd environmental initiative was attended by South Korean ambassador Park Chong-suk, Vice President of the Korean Community Association in Kuwait Oh Sung-dae, the Kuwait branch manager of the Korean Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC) Hyeon Bong-cheol with a number of Korean and KOC volunteers.
The “Go Green Kuwait” campaign is a testament to a shared commitment to environmental conservation and cross-cultural cooperation. The ecological drive will show once again that the Korea-Kuwait relations are as strong as the Vachellia tortilis and Rhanterium– specific tree species capable of thriving in the challenging conditions like Kuwaiti desert, cementing the enduring bonds between Kuwait and South Korea.
