Tajik voters turn out in Kuwait for parliamentary elections

His Excellency Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydov, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait, announced that the Tajik embassy in Kuwait welcomed around 100 eligible voters, with seven parties, including the ruling People’s Democratic Party, competing in the elections across three states.
Since early morning, dozens of Tajik community members have gathered at their embassy to vote for their representatives in Tajikistan’s 63-member parliament, aligning with the parliamentary elections.
His Excellency Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydov, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to the country, expressed his deep gratitude to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior for providing all necessary facilities to the embassy to ensure the success of this electoral process.
Ambassador Zubaydov said in a press statement on the sidelines of his participation in the elections, “I would like to thank the Kuwaiti authorities for providing facilities to the embassy, enabling our citizens residing in Kuwait to cast their votes and choose their representatives in the new parliament for the next five years.”
He pointed out that the embassy opened its doors to Tajik citizens residing in Kuwait who have the right to vote, according to the provisions of the constitution and as registered in the embassy’s lists, with approximately 100 voters.
He explained that seven parties, including the ruling People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, are competing in these elections across three states.
As chairman of the election committee, which includes members of the embassy, the ambassador indicated that the votes would be counted in the presence of community representatives, and the results would be sent electronically to the Election Commission headquarters in Dushanbe.
