Surprise security campaign in Kabd led to seizure of drugs, alcohol, and removal of illegal camps

Personnel from the Criminal Security Sector of the Jahra Governorate Investigation Department, in coordination with Kuwait Municipality and several Ministry of Interior department carried out a comprehensive joint security campaign in the desert areas of Kabd.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 611 bottles of alcohol, five liters of ethanol, approximately 280 grams of methamphetamine, about one and a half kilograms of marijuana, and around 20 grams of hashish.

The authorities also confiscated 363 Lyrica pills, two sensitive weighing scales, and drug-use paraphernalia, according to Al-Rai daily.

This is in addition, to the seizure of 16 vehicles wanted by the authorities for various reasons, five people wanted by law in connection with various cases, three individuals were detained on suspicion of being in an abnormal state, and one wanted fugitive; one violator of residency and labor laws, along with another individual for not holding identification documents.

The campaign also resulted in the of several illegal camps erected on state property. Legal measures were taken against all violators, and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities.

The campaign forms part of an integrated security plan aimed at intensifying regular field inspections to apprehend violators and remove encroachments on state property.

The Ministry of Interior said the operation comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to maintain security and strengthen public order, under the supervision of the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs, Major General Hamed Al-Dawwas.

The campaign was attended by the Director-General of Kuwait Municipality, Engineer Manal Al-Asfour, the Director-General of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the Assistant Director-General for Ports Search and Investigation Affairs, the Assistant Director-General for Governorate Affairs, and the Director of the Jahra Governorate Investigation Department.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed that joint security campaigns will continue on a regular and periodic basis in cooperation with relevant agencies, stressing its firm stance against any violations that threaten security and public order, and its commitment to applying the law without leniency.
