“Supreme Committee” withdraws Kuwaiti nationality in 4,246 cases

The Supreme Committee for Nationality Investigation held a meeting today, Thursday, 9th January, chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, H. E. Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, who also serves as the Chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to withdraw and revoke Kuwaiti nationality from 4,246 cases, in preparation for presenting them to the Council of Ministers. The details are as follows:

  1. Loss of Kuwaiti nationality certificate under Articles (10, 11) of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. (15) of 1959, involving 20 cases (due to duplication).
  2. Withdrawing the Kuwaiti citizenship certificate in accordance with Article (21 bis) and Article (13, paragraph 1) of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law No. (15) of 1959 and its amendments, involving 89 cases of fraud, false statements (forgery), and individuals who may have acquired citizenship through dependency.
  3. Withdrawal of Kuwaiti citizenship in accordance with Article (13, Paragraph 4) of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. (15) of 1959 and its amendments, for 1 case involving children of a Kuwaiti woman (Article 5, Paragraph 2).
  4. Withdrawing Kuwaiti citizenship in accordance with Article (13, Paragraph 4) of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. (15) of 1959 and its amendments, involving 4,136 cases (Article 8), belonging to 54 different countries.
