‘Spirit of Kuwait’ ignites national pride with heritage-inspired orchestral masterpiece at JACC

The event honored the nation's past while embracing a modern artistic identity — coinciding with Kuwait’s selection as the Capital of Arab Culture and Arab Media for 2025

The “Spirit of Kuwait” musical project, produced by Al-Rai Media Group in partnership with Kaif Art Production, dazzled audiences at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center with a powerful blend of traditional heritage and global orchestral flair.

Led by maestro Dr. Ahmed Al Oud and featuring a 70-member Kuwaiti Orchestra, the two-night event celebrated Kuwait’s rich cultural legacy with stirring performances.

The highlights included Salman Al Amari’s renditions of Al Haddadi and Al Sanqni, Briza Al Roumi’s captivating Samri dance, and Abdulaziz Al Misbah’s soulful delivery of Ya Habibi, which mesmerized the audience.

Clarinetist Abdul Latif Ghazi evoked nostalgia with his original piece Hanin, transporting listeners to the Kuwaiti desert. The orchestra also performed cherished heritage pieces like Heyla Ya Rommana and Ya Umm Amr, alongside international works with a Kuwaiti twist.

The show featured an exhibition by artist Maryam Al-Salem, traditional attire by Mahra Fashion House and Al-Safat Textiles, and expert visual direction by Ahmed Al-Khalaf.

With enthusiastic applause, cheers, and cultural pride, Spirit of Kuwait honored the nation’s past while embracing a modern artistic identity — coinciding with Kuwait’s selection as the Capital of Arab Culture and Arab Media for 2025.
