Speeding, residency violations in Kuwait lead to 153 arrests

A vehicle was caught traveling at kilometer per hour, while authorities arrested residency and labor law violators, ten without ID, five wanted individuals, 47 wanted vehicles, and two with suspected drugs.

The Ministry of Interior reported that the General Traffic Department (Highway Division) carried out extensive campaigns across all ring roads and expressways to apprehend violators and wanted individuals and enforce legal measures, according to Al Anba newspaper.

The ministry indicated that the campaign, which involved a wide deployment of security and traffic patrols on the roads, resulted in 5,834 traffic violations, including a vehicle detected traveling at 200 kilometer per hour, as well as other serious offenses. A total of 153 violators of residency and labor laws were arrested, along with ten individuals without identification, five wanted persons, 47 vehicles wanted by the judiciary, and two people found with suspected narcotic and intoxicating substances. Two vehicles and one individual were referred for precautionary detention.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed its continued intensive efforts to implement security and traffic plans to ensure the safety of road users, commended the cooperation of citizens and residents, and urged everyone to report any violations or illegal activity via the emergency number 112.
