Spectacular ‘Blood Moon’ lunar eclipse to light up Kuwait sky Sept 7

A total lunar eclipse, also known as a “Blood Moon,” will be visible in Kuwait on Sunday, September 7, 2025. This rare event will occur during a Supermoon, when the Moon is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit.

The eclipse will also be visible across the all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.

When to watch in Kuwait

  • The partial eclipse begins around 7:27 pm
  • The total eclipse starts at 8:30 pm
  • Maximum viewing is at 9:11 pm

Total lunar eclipses are relatively uncommon, but this one stands out due to its long total phase, vivid coloring, and wide global visibility. Nearly 87% of the world’s population will be able to observe at least part of it, making this Blood Moon a rare event for both casual stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts.

The eclipse is safe to observe with the naked eye — no special filters are required.
