Solemn military funeral held for ‘Martyr of Duty’ at Sulaibikhat Cemetery

Kuwait on Sunday afternoon bid a final farewell to the martyr of duty, Colonel Saud Nassar Al-Khamsan, during a solemn military funeral held at Sulaibikhat Cemetery, following his death in a fire while carrying out his national duty at the General Directorate of Correctional Institutions.

The funeral was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, along with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdul Wahab Al-Wahib, senior security and military officials, and large numbers of citizens.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, conveying to them the condolences of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, reports Al-Rai daily.

He stressed that the martyr of duty represented a model of dedication and sincerity in the performance of his responsibilities, noting that the sacrifices of Kuwait’s sons will remain a source of pride and appreciation, and a motivation to continue serving the nation and safeguarding its security and stability.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef presented the Kuwaiti flag, which had draped the body, to the family of the fallen officer, affirming that his death in the line of duty elevated him to the status of a martyr, God willing. He prayed that God Almighty grant him mercy and unite him with the righteous.

For his part, Major General Abdul Wahab Al-Wahib said that martyrs of duty will remain enduring symbols of sacrifice and devotion, and that their contributions will forever be etched in the nation’s memory as embodiments of loyalty and belonging.
He prayed that God Almighty grant the deceased His vast mercy, admit him to Paradise, and grant his family patience and solace.
