Soldier who killed colleague is mentally ill: Criminal Court

Following a psychiatric assessment, the Criminal Court has determined that a soldier employed by the Ministry of Defense cannot be held accountable for the alleged killing of his colleague inside the camp by shooting him.

The soldier, initially under investigation by the Public Prosecution and held in pretrial detention, faced accusations of firing four bullets at his colleague, resulting in the colleague’s death. However, the psychiatric report has established that the soldier is not responsible for his actions, reports Al-Qabas daily.
