“Social Affairs Ministry” commends “Integrity’s” approval of anti-corruption law amendments

The Ministry of Social Affairs, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and uphold the principles of integrity, welcomed the approval of the General Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) to incorporate its proposals into the new amendments to the law. These amendments aim to strengthen financial and administrative oversight and promote good governance across various sectors.
Sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs revealed that these amendments are backed by the direct support and commitment of the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah. The Minister places great importance on enhancing financial and administrative oversight and combating corruption by expanding the scope of those covered under the “Integrity” Law, ensuring greater compliance with transparency and accountability.
The new amendments stipulate that the following categories will be subject to the “Integrity” Law and will be required to submit financial disclosure statements: administrative and financial auditors in cooperative and charitable societies, members of the boards of directors of public benefit societies, and executive directors.
These amendments also extend the provisions of the Conflict of Interest Law to these categories, promoting integrity in their duties and preventing practices that could undermine the public interest.
The Ministry of Social Affairs emphasized that this step aligns with an integrated vision to strengthen oversight, enhance transparency, and combat corruption. The Ministry praised its fruitful cooperation with Nazaha in supporting legislative reforms that safeguard public funds and uphold the principles of good governance.
