Social Affairs Minister dismisses cooperative society head over violations

Minister of Social Affairs, Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah, announced the dismissal of a cooperative society chairman after investigations confirmed serious financial and administrative violations that breached cooperative laws and regulations.

Al-Huwailah confirmed that the violations, which also involved current and former board members as well as some ministry employees, were referred to the public prosecution. She emphasized that legal action will be taken against all those proven guilty, reports Al-Rai daily.

Reaffirming the government’s stance, Al-Huwailah stressed that cooperative societies are a public trust and must adhere to transparency and integrity. She stated that anyone who misuses their position will be held accountable.

The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to enhance its monitoring role over cooperatives, pledging zero tolerance for violations that harm cooperative work or citizen interests.
