Smooth departure for 8,000 Kuwaiti Hajj pilgrims

With streamlined procedures and carefully organized logistics, the Kuwait International Airport witnessed the departure of the first group of Kuwaiti pilgrims heading to the Holy Lands on Friday.

The departures will continue through Monday, completing the travel of all 8,000 pilgrims on 36 scheduled flights to Jeddah.

The Hajj flights from Terminal 1 on Friday and Terminal 4 on Saturday, left with ease — travelers were received with utmost efficiency. Pilgrims benefitted from full logistical support, which contributed to a smooth and comfortable travel experience, reports Al-Rai daily.

Mansour Al-Hashemi, Director of Kuwait Airport Operations at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, confirmed the successful launch of the Hajj season.

“The first flights carrying the Guests of God to the Holy Lands departed on Friday morning,” he said, noting that the full group of pilgrims would travel in phases through Monday.

He explained that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation had coordinated an integrated operational plan with various stakeholders, including the Ministries of Islamic Affairs and Health, which deployed field teams to guide and assist the pilgrims.

In addition, personnel from the Ministries of Interior, Customs, and Ground Services worked diligently to facilitate travel procedures.

Al-Hashemi emphasized that preparations had been made in accordance with the highest standards to ensure smooth passenger movement.

Measures included pre-distribution of boarding passes to avoid congestion, the allocation of special counters for pilgrims, and coordination with customs and interior ministry teams to accelerate baggage handling and other departure formalities.

This coordinated effort reflects Kuwait’s commitment to supporting its citizens during the Hajj pilgrimage and ensuring a safe and dignified journey for all pilgrims.
